But now the Jungle Book: Origins actress will be making her Broadway debut in her husband’s play The Present!
The Aussie beauty will be starring in hubby Andrew Upton‘s adaptation of Anton Chekhov‘s first play Platonov — which played a sold out engagement last summer at The Sydney Theatre Company!
Blanchett and Richard Roxburgh, who costarred in the Sydney production, will return for a Broadway run in early winter of 2016!
The Present follows widow Anna Petrovna (Blanchett) who is faced with two decades of messy relationships and regrets when her friends arrive to celebrate her birthday.
This play will be the first Broadway role for the 46-year-old — though she’s no stranger to the stage!
Blanchett also starred in The Maids, Hedda Gabler, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Upton’s adaptation of Uncle Vanya!
