But now that Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been in theaters for weeks, fans are even more into the galaxy far, far away and we can’t wait for Star Wars land to finally open — even if it means some rides will have to close.
Well, now we’ve got some MORE exciting news in regards to the new section of theme park as the House of Mouse just announced that Harrison Ford himself will be unveiling the BIG plans for the upcoming attractions!
In fact, Han will be stopping by ABC‘s The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60 special in honor of Disneyland’s 60th anniversary to share everything he knows!
But he won’t be alone because the event will also feature some major special guests, including Sir Elton John, Josh Gad, and Witney Carson!
Last summer at the D23 Expo, the company gave lucky fans a sneak peek at the planned 14-acre Star Wars section of the park in both Anaheim, California as well as Orlando, Florida, with CEO Robert Iger dishing:
“Every store and restaurant will be operated by local inhabitants, making each experience deeply immersive. Nothing in the land will be out of character or stray from mythology. By the way, we’re currently casting for roles, so if you live on the Outer Rim there maybe a job for you.”
Not only that, but we also know that there will be a cantina, like the one in the original Star Wars film, and there will also be a ride that allows people to take control of Millennium Falcon!
For all the exciting new updates to the Happiest Place on Earth, make sure you check out The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60 when it airs Sunday, February 21 at 8 p.m. EST!
