While we still can’t believe Donald Trump really skipped the Republican Party’s presidential debate Thursday night… we aren’t surprised he did something to keep himself in the news!!!
Though we are a little shocked he actually did something nice!
The real estate mogul, who had been fighting with FOX News anchor Megyn Kelly earlier in the week, found something useful to do instead of attending last night’s debate.
He held a fundraiser for veterans just a few miles down the road in Iowa — and Trump himself donated $1 million to their cause!
Of course, he couldn’t do it without being a jackass, but, hey — at least he was being magnanimous too!!
Reading from a list of people who had donated money to vets last night, Trump got to his name and said:
“Donald Trump, another great builder in New York, now a politician ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ I can’t stand this ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ a politician? I don’t want to be called a politician. All talk, no action. I refuse to be called a politician! Donald Trump gave $1 million, okay?”
He then went on kind of a bizarre tangent about greed itself, too:
“I don’t feel good about running down money because my whole life I’ve been greedy greedy, greedy. I’ve grabbed all the money I could get. I’m so greedy. But now I want to be greedy for the United States. I want to grab all that money for the United States.”
And then he gave a GREAT analysis of whether his absence at the debate was going to hurt him in the race:
“You know what? I don’t know. Is it for me, personally, a good thing, a bad thing, will I get more votes will I get less votes? Nobody knows. Who the hell knows?”
But to top it all off, the ultimate narcissist couldn’t resist comparing his fundraiser to the Oscars, and to hear The Donald tell it, Iowa was the place to be last night:
“This is the Academy Awards! We’re actually told that we have more cameras than they do by quite a bit.”
LOLz, OK, pal!!!
So… Trump is still a total selfish and greedy bigot, but depending on how you look at it, at least he’s now $1 million poorer?! Ha!!!
