The rock world has lost another legend.
On Thursday, it was confirmed that the Jefferson Airplane guitarist Paul Kantner has passed away at 74-years-old. So sad!
According to his publicist Cynthia Bowman, the musician died from multiple organ failure and septic shock. Not to mention, Paul also suffered from a heart attack earlier this week. Tragic!
Apparently, the rock star also had a heart attack back in March 2015 and has been incredibly ill for some time. Kantner famously co-founded JA with Marty Balin, Jack Casady, Spencer Dryden, Jorma Kaukonen, and Grace Slick. He also formed the spinoff group Jefferson Starship.
The White Rabbit artist was a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee back in 1996 and is survived by his three children Gareth, Alexander, and China. His loss is most certainly felt in the industry.
In fact, the official Facebook account for The Doors took to the social media site to pay tribute to the fallen guitarist. They posted:
Tissues, anyone? Our thoughts are with Paul’s loved ones during this sad time.
