A Louisiana children’s TV show host from the 1970s has been arrested on child sex abuse allegations — that are decades old!
Authorities in San Diego arrested Frank Selas last week on charges of molesting several children during a camping retreat back in 1979.
Selas, now 76-years-old, had spent several years in the 1970s hosting a children’s TV show called Mr. Wonder on a Louisiana television station.
At the time, when he learned there were warrants for his arrest nearly four decades ago, he fled to Rio De Janeiro, and then allegedly spent the next several decades living in South America, while returning to the United States at various times under a number of aliases.
Two weeks ago, detectives in Bonita, California got a tip that Selas was living in the quiet community south of San Diego, after legally changing his name.
Now, he’s being charged with two counts of obscene behavior with a juvenile.
Looks like he’ll remain in police custody to face the charges initially levied against him in Louisiana almost 40 years ago.
