Hillary Clinton Says She Was Never Friends With ‘Mean-Spirited’ Donald Trump! But Their Daughters On The Other Hand…

Sorry, Donald!

Hillary Clinton is taking the opportunity fresh off her Iowa Caucus win — and Donald Trump‘s loss — to shoot down any claims that she was ever friends with the businessman.

Hillary recently sat down with People and dished about her political and social views — so of course the man once thought to be her biggest rival came up.

The Democratic candidate took the opportunity to explain her history with the GOP hopeful saying:

“We were not friends.”

The 68-year-old went on to explain:

“We knew each other, obviously, in New York. I knew a lot of people.”

This has all come up because the two politicians seemed to have a friendlier past than you would expect as Donald was quoted calling Hillary “a terrific woman” back in 2012. The former Celebrity Apprentice star even previously stated:

“I have known her for years. I live in New York, she lives in New York, and I’ve known her and her husband for years and I really like them both a lot.”

We don’t know exactly what changed for Donald, but during his run for the GOP nomination he has not only SLAMMED Bill Clinton for his history with women, but made some pretty sexist remarks toward his potential opponent.

Clinton went on to explain what she thinks about Trump:

“I don’t really care that much about what he says about me because I do see that as, you know, politics ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ not particularly the brand I approve of…

I really care about what he says about other people, who don’t have the voice and the platform, who are never going to be interviewed by PEOPLE Magazine, who could never stand up for themselves and respond to whatever is being said…I have looked in the eyes of a lot of American Muslims ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ doctors, business owners, lawyers, political leaders ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ and just seeing the confusion, the bewilderment, people who have lived in this country for decades. You know, What is he talking about? Why is he doing this? So I’m more concerned about the tone that is being set in the political debate this year because the last thing our country needs right now is more divisiveness, more mean-spiritedness.”

Hillary’s daughter Chelsea Clinton was also on hand during the interview and revealed:

“I’ve never had a relationship with Mr. Trump. My relationship has always been with [Trump’s daughter] Ivanka Trump and certainly I do believe that friendship is more important than politics… I would never hold anyone accountable for what their parents or anyone else in their family said or did.”

With everything that has been said over the past year, we doubt that any friendship will be made between the candidates now. We just hope for a good clean fight from here on out! We know, it’s a pipe dream.

What do you think of Hillary’s comments?
