Zendaya has dealt with her fair share of bullies!
In a recent interview with New You magazine, the Disney star dished about how she over came bullying in her youth by simply not caring. Oh!
“I was made fun of [in school], but it didn’t bother me very much because I was very comfortable in who I was. I was taught as a young child by my parents and family to love myself. And it’s the same today ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ there are certain things that don’t bother me.”
Color us impressed! Luckily, the fashionista’s youthful confidence has stayed with her throughout her career.
Although, it appears the concept of excessive photoshopping still bugs her! We mean, she DID just deal with an absurd photoshopping incident recently.
The 19-year-old added:
“There is no such thing as ugly. That’s a word that doesn’t really enter my vocabulary. If there’s any definition to being perfect, you’re perfect at being yourself.”
Talk about being an inspiration! And boy, does the up-and-comer know it, as she concluded:
“Whether it is through my social media or whatever, I want anyone who looks up to me to know that I go through the same problems. I have to be confident in who I am. When I learn things about myself, I like to share that journey with people because I know there are a lot of people going through the same thing.”
Well said. Nonetheless, keep doing you girl because you’re totally KILLING it right now.
