This is brand new information!
While Matt LeBlanc has been making headlines as part of the Friends mini-reunion, we think Estelle must be working overtime because Joey’s latest gig is a pretty huge get.
That’s because it was announced early Thursday morning that the 48-year-old actor is about to be the first American to ever host Top Gear!
The BBC car show had a rather large scandal last year as fan favorite Jeremy Clarkson was fired after attacking a producer… but we’re thinking fans will be more than happy with Matt joining Chris Evans as replacements.
Fellow car enthusiast Chris commented on Matt’s casting in a statement, saying:
“Matt’s a lifelong fellow petrolhead and I’m thrilled he’s joining Top Gear. Acting out our craziest car notions on screen is a dream job and I know we’ll both be debating some epic road trip ideas. We can’t wait to share what we’ve been up to on screen later this year.”
We’re so into this!
Not to be outdone, the Golden Globe-winner also spoke out about his casting, saying:
“As a car nut and a massive fan of Top Gear, I’m honored and excited to be a part of this iconic show’s new chapter.”
Matt has been hosting the spin-off Top Gear: The Races on BBC America since January 18, so the producers must have seriously liked him a lot to extend such a lucrative offer.
We wonder if any of his friends will stop by for some episodes??
