Taraji P. Henson is still relishing her win at the Golden Globes, but that doesn’t mean she’s letting it get to her head!
The Empire starlet confessed that this new level of fame is actually new to her.
Speaking to Extra in a new interview, the fierce actress spilled:
“It’s weird because I’ve been doing this for so long and it took a character like Cookie to expose me to the world in a way that I’ve never been exposed before.”
It’s true. But
Cookie Taraji is trying to stay as down-to-earth as possible.
The 45-year-old shared:
“I love to shop at Target and I love to do my own shopping, but that’s become difficult├óΓé¼┬ª with the paparazzi. It’s like, ├óΓé¼╦£Where were y’all, like, 10 years ago?’ You have got to take the good with the bad. The good side is I can get into any restaurant├óΓé¼┬ª last-minute.”
And revealing what it was like to be awarded with her first GG, she revealed:
“That is our soul we expose to the world, so whenever people receive it and people go, ├óΓé¼╦£Oh, we want to give you something,’ it always feels good.”
What a beautiful way to put it!
Though in five years, the starlet hopes to be settled down a bit. Taraji explained:
“Hopefully, I don’t want to say ├óΓé¼╦£retired,’ but a little slowed down. Maybe just picking and choosing projects I want to do. Maybe enjoying the fruits of my labor.”
At least this means we won’t be saying “bye” to Cookie anytime soon!
