Beyonc├â┬⌐ & Coldplay Super Bowl Team Up Worked Great — But Only After Queen Bey Rejected Chris Martin’s ‘Awful’ First Duet Idea!

Tell us how you really feel, Bey!

Coldplay pulled out all the stops on Sunday to ensure they didn’t put the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers to sleep with their alt-rock melodies, and luckily Beyonc├â┬⌐ was on hand to amp up their shared halftime performance.

The unlikely partnership between B and Chris Martin has been going on for a while now ever since they dropped Hymn for the Weekend, but it turns out the controversial music video almost wasn’t the single they went with.

In fact, Chris had another song called Hook Up written in mind for the Formation singer… except she sort of rejected it instantly!

During an interview with Rolling Stone out Monday, the 38-year-old Coldplay frontman admitted that Beyoncé was pretty critical of his work, saying:

“In the sweetest possible way, she told me, ‘I really like you… but this is awful.'”

We haven’t heard it for ourselves, but we’re inclined to believe Queen Bey on this one.

Plus, if Chris was really pissed about her saying no to the original duet, he probably wouldn’t have referred to her as ‘sweet.’ LOLz!

Would you have wanted to see a Hook Up between Beyoncé and Chris Martin??
