Show some class!

ICYMI: On Sunday, Rosie O’Donnell performed at Carolines on Broadway and made a tasteless joke at the expense of people with autism. C’mon, Rosie!

The comedienne was talking about her kids during a segment of the show and said that parenting her kids was so difficult that she’d gladly trade them in for autistic triplets in a heartbeat. UGH.

Well not surprisingly, this pissed the National Autism Association off and a rep for the group didn’t hold back as they called Rosie “dog sh*t.” In fact, they went on to refer to the 53-year-old as the kind of mushy dog poo that can be found on the bottom of your shoes. Tell us how you really feel! LOLz!

The rep said O’Donnell’s joke:

“crossed all lines of being a good human being to make a desperate, low-blow joke.”

Well the former talk show host of course says she didn’t mean to offend anyone as she told TMZ:

“Although it was not my intent to hurt people, I realize I did. It was my fault. I have 2 children with spectrum disorders. I’m aware of the challenges and stigma associated with autism.”

The mother of two went on to try and save face by mentioning that she’s raised money as well as done documentaries for the autism community.

So you can give someone money and slap them in the face and everything’s cool, right?

We’re not sure how we feel about the performer’s joke, but at least she’s trying to make up for her harsh words.

What do you think?
