Former Miss New Jersey Passes Away After Car Crash — See Her Boyfriend’s Heartbreaking Tribute

This is so tragic.

As we previously reported, Miss America contestant Cara McCollum was critically injured in a car accident last Monday night.

Unfortunately, we’re heartbroken to confirm that the 24-year-old beauty pageant contestant and 2013 Miss New Jersey has passed away.

McCollum was a Princeton University graduate who chose a career as a news anchor after competing in pageants. She worked for about six months at SNJ Today.

The news program released a statement regarding the terrible news saying:

“Cara showed warmth to everyone she met. She was a part of our news team family and we are gratified to have worked with her ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ even for such a short time. We will miss her terribly.”

The blonde beauty’s boyfriend, Keith Jones, who is an anchor at NBC station WCAU in Philadelphia, also shared his feelings on his girlfriend’s passing:

Cara is survived by both parents and one brother.
