Here’s the dumbest story you’ll hear all day!

Middlebury College in Vermont just banned energy drinks from being sold on campus!

They’re concerned the products promote — not even kidding — “problematic behavior” like alcohol abuse, and “high-risk sexual activity.”

The college posted flyers in its student cafe which read:

“Energy drink consumption facilitates unhealthy work habits such as prolonged periods of sleeplessness, contributing to a campus culture of stress and unsustainable study habits.”

Uh… OK?! These are college kids, right?! Not, like, five-year-olds??

Maybe the students are old enough to make their own decisions??

Luckily, some smart students are fighting back.

Arnav Adhikari, a senior who works in the cafe while attending class, says the school is overreaching:

“There are more important things for them to address. And what do energy drinks have to do with sexual activity? Besides, they still sell lots of fried food.”

Finally, some sensible opinions!!

Another student, Phil Hoxie, remembered a bad experience with an energy drink earlier in his life and put it into context:

“When I was playing football in high school I took a shot and felt absolutely miserable. My heart kept pounding. But It’s part of learning. The school can’t be responsible for everything in your life.”

For now, Middlebury College seems hopelessly and stupidly stuck in the past, though…
