In Smith’s acceptance speech, he seemed completely ASTONISHED and so excited to win the coveted award. Despite being floored to walk away with the honor, Sam managed to declare his LGBT pride, gushing that he was proud to be an out and gay man.

While many fans were happy to see S.S. win the award, some people felt Diane Warren should have won for her Til’ It Happens To You collaboration with Lady GaGa. The famed song writer has been nominated an INSANE amount of times for this category before, after all.
