But apparently one other chart-topping artist nearly made it onto The Life Of Pablo — Justin Bieber!
According to Fonzworth Bentley — one of the producers of the opening track Ultralight Beam — the Sorry singer helped Yeezy “vibe” on the track!
The producer explained how as they were recording the song with Chance The Rapper, he called up fellow producer Jason “Poo Bear” Boyd to vibe on the recording session — who just so happened to be with a certain pop star at the time!
Speaking to The Fader, Bentley said:
“I called Poo Bear, who’s from College Park and wrote a lot of Justin Bieber’s album. And he was with Justin at the time… Justin hops on the phone and is like, ‘Tell Yeezy whatever he needs I got it’. So Justin comes through and we vibed on that. And then Ye went right in. Ye was like, ‘Let’s all catch a freestyle.'”
After the rappers caught their vibe and did some freestyling, Justin took a turn on the mic. He added:
“There weren’t that many words, more so vibes and patterns. Then Justin got on the mic and sang some a cappella. It was free flow. It was creativity.”
But Bieberoni’s free flow didn’t make the final cut for Ultralight Beam — with Chance and Kelly Price‘s vocals being featured instead.
We’re not sure if the 21-year-old is upset he didn’t make the cut for the album, but at least he got to help Yeezy catch some vibes! LOLz!
