George Clooney may still be one of the sexiest leading men in Hollywood, but the actor revealed that there will come a day when that might not be the case!
And when that day comes, we can say goodbye to the Cloonster forever — on camera!
That’s right! In an interview promoting Hail, Caesar!, the Hollywood icon hinted that he might be giving up acting soon because aging results in fewer film options!
Speaking to BBC News, he said:
“I think nobody really wants to see anybody really age├óΓé¼┬ª It’s a very unforgiving thing, the cameras, and so aging becomes something that you try to do less and less on screen. You try to pick the films that work best for you and as you age, they become less and less.”
While the 54-year-old still has a blast acting, he thinks that getting older makes it impossible to “stay in front of the camera your whole life.”
But even if Clooney quits acting, he already has another career in mind — working behind the camera as a director! He added:
“It is my great love, and I do enjoy it a lot. I’ve had some really great success and I’ve had some not so successful films, and that’s also part of the experience.”
We can totally see George pulling a Clint Eastwood — directing prestige pictures throughout his golden years, with a few on screen roles here and there!
Or, studios can just start making more movies with older leads!
