Sharknado 4 Gets Controversial With Casting AGAIN, Adding Cheryl Tiegs — Right After Her Body Shaming Comments! See Who Else Is Diving In!

The marine-predator-filled natural disaster movie is back with vengeance… and some new faces!

We’ve been highly anticipating the upcoming sequel to Syfy‘s hit Sharknado franchise — and now that the cast of Sharknado 4 has been announced, we’re thrashing in excitement!

Reprising their roles are Ian Ziering as the shark-fighting hero Fin Shepard, Tara Reid as April Wexler, David Hasselhoff as Fin’s father, Col. Gil Shepard, and Ryan Newman as Fin and April’s daughter Claudia.

But the fourth installment of the genre series, which takes place five years after the events of Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No, will introduce several new characters — most of whom we assume will be devoured by flying sharks.

First and foremost, Gary Busey will be joining the cast as Wilford Wexler, April’s father and lead scientist at tech company Astro-X. Tommy Davidson will play Aston Reynolds, a playboy billionaire and CEO of Astro-X — a company that is developing technology to prevent the formation of tornadoes!

But that’s not all! Supermodel Cheryl Tiegs is set to play Raye, Fin’s mother and Col. Gil Shepard’s ex-wife — which is a pretty controversial casting choice considering her recent body shaming comments about Ashley Graham!

We mean, not as controversial as Jared Fogle‘s deleted scene in Part 3 obviously…

The film, which is set to premiere this July, also stars Cody Linley, Imani Hakim, Masiela Lushaand, and a number of celebrity cameos that is expected to be announced at a later date!

Sharknado 4 will also reveal the fate of Reid’s character, which was left up for fans to decide if #AprilLives or #AprilDies in a social campaign! Best of luck, girl!
