From her new movie Whiskey Tango Foxtrot to the upcoming season of her show Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Tina Fey has a lot of projects to talk about these days!
Answering a rapid fire round of questions, the Sisters star confirmed she was still working on the stage adaptation of her 2004 comedy with her composer husband Jeff Richmond.
Fey didn’t have too much to dish about the unfinished story. While she did admit it was “pretty close” to the original plot of the movie, the writer said they were still figuring out when the first act would end.
The 45-year-old DID reveal the musical would feature more classic Broadway-style music than more modernized tunes, and the big “11 o’clock number” (the climactic song towards the end of the second half) “might be the girl fight.”
As for the cast, Fey said she would not reprise her role as Ms. Norbury — and isn’t planning on asking the original cast to star in it either!
So, those of you who dreamed of seeing Lindsay Lohan on Broadway will have to wait for the stage adaptation of Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen! LOLz!
