Brand new cast. Same old scandals.
Top Gear didn’t have the smoothest run last year after fan favorite Jeremy Clarkson was fired after attacking a producer, but we’re sure the BBC series had high hopes as they made their way into 2016.
Well, even a Friend like Matt LeBlanc couldn’t keep the car show out of the papers, because they’ve got yet another controversy on their hands!
Apparently, Matt and professional rally driver Ken Block were filming scenes near the Women of World War Two memorial in Whitehall on Sunday when they started doing donuts and leaving skid marks right around the monument!
Not only was this obviously in poor taste, but British authorities are saying that producers never told them they’d be doing anything more than simply driving down the road… let alone potentially dangerous stunts!
Host Chris Evans addressed the scandal outside of his Radio 2 breakfast show on Monday, saying:
“That footage will definitely not go on the air, no question about it.
We’re all mortified by it, so absolutely, 100 percent it should not be shown.”
Do U see a checkered flag waving in Top Gear‘s near future??
Ch-ch-check out video of the stunt and subsequent damage (below)!!!
