On Friday, the Aussie artist opened up to Power 106 FM‘s J Cruz about all the hate she had gotten over the past year, and how it affected her both emotionally and psychologically.
While discussing her lowest point, the rapper revealed:
“There were times when I just wanted to quit life, the whole thing, really.”
The radio personality asked the gorgeous gal if she felt suicidal, and IggyIggs responded:
“Kinda, sometimes I did. Sometimes I would be driving through the canyons to get to my horses and I would be like, ‘What if I just kept driving off the canyon?'”
Woah. We had no idea the 25-year-old had been struggling that much.
But the lovely lady explained that it wasn’t the hateful words that got her so down. She admitted:
“It wasn’t the comments. It was that people made it seem, and it’s like people that I work with in the industry too, like ‘Oh, this is it for your career now, so what are you gonna do?'”
Nick Young‘s fianc├â┬⌐e explained that she was devastated to think about losing her job, because she’s in the U.S. on a work visa and couldn’t imagine her entire life being taken away if she was forced to leave the country.
“It can make a person feel like, well what do I have left to live for?”
But the hitmaker said her love of animals got her through the dark days:
“I would always just think that if I can just make it down to my horses and just go ride my horses and see how I feel after that, and I always felt better after I did that. And just take it day by day.”
In fact, she says the low point helped her repair some of her relationships:
“I’m glad it happened. I don’t think I would’ve bothered to reconnect with my friends… if it weren’t for the fact that everybody else, I felt like, kind of gave up on me.”
We’re so glad that Iggy seems to be in a better place now. We love that she looks happy and healthy again! For her whole emotional admission, watch out the video (below):
