Don’t worry, Steve Harvey — it’s not your fault this time!
Puerto Rico’s Miss Universe contestant was stripped of her crown on Thursday because officials said she had an attitude problem!
After winning the crown four months ago, Kristhielee Caride will no longer be representing the U.S. territory in the pageant after she was criticized for being dismissive in an interview with a local newspaper!
Director of Miss Universe Puerto Rico Desiree Lowry announced the decision during a press conference on Thursday, saying:
“I saw the damage that she was doing and the damage that she was doing to the organization.”
According to reports, Lowry was with the beauty queen for the newspaper interview, and was not happy when the 24-year-old said she didn’t like cameras! The official added:
“I wanted the earth to swallow me. You always have to put your best face forward ├óΓé¼┬ª it’s a given that we are going to be in front of cameras and that we have to answer all types of questions.”
Though Caride reportedly said the incident would never happen again, she ended up cancelling other press events and would not reschedule.
The disgraced winner apologized to fans in a lengthy Facebook post, saying that while she did not agree with the decision, she would turn in her sash with grace.
At the press conference, Lowry announced that Brenda Jim├â┬⌐nez would take Caride’s place as the new Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2016.
Do YOU agree with the organization’s decision to switch out winners after a few unfortunate interviews?
