Looking good, Russell Crowe!
On Thursday, the 51-year-old called in to Australia’s Fitzy & Wippa radio show to open up about his recent weight loss, and it’s pretty impressive.
The Aussie actor explained that he packed on the pounds for his starring role in The Nice Guys alongside Ryan Gosling in order to provide a visible contrast between their characters, saying:
“I was 121.6 kilos (268 pounds) the first week of August last year. I did a movie called The Nice Guys, so I wanted to be the physical juxtaposition of Ryan Gosling.”
The famous father revealed that after seven months, he’s down to 98 kilos — AKA 216 pounds — and he’s continuing to slim down!
The poppa-of-two dished that he’s “clawing [his] way back from” his fuller frame.
He’s been snapped quite a few times over the past few months biking around, so we’re sure all that cardio has seriously contributed to his impressive weight loss.
And, while speaking to the radio hosts, the Les Misérables alum also spilled about what it was like working with The Notebook star, adding:
“That kid is a comic genius. He’s great company. He’s really smart. He loves what he does and he asks all the right questions. Working with him was such a treat. The kid just knows how to make me laugh. He’s very, very funny.”
Ugh. Pretty AND smart?! It’s official. Eva Mendes is the luckiest lady EVER! But we digress.
We’re so proud of the progress Russell’s made in his fitness journey! Keep up the good work!
