Here’s Why The Flash‘s Grant Gustin Couldn’t Be In Batman V Superman!

Zack Snyder‘s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is only a few days away from being released and we’re getting more and more excited for the superhero team up.

We already knew that the film will feature both Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as the caped crusader, as well as Gal Gadot‘s highly anticipated introduction as Wonder Woman, but there are some other heroes showing up too!

Not only is Ray Fisher popping up as Cyborg, but Jason Mamoa will have an appearance as Aquaman, as will Ezra Miller‘s The Flash!

But wait, don’t we already have a Flash in Grant Gustin thanks to the CW‘s hit show??

Ever since Miller’s casting was announced though, there’s been a question about why the studio didn’t try and link the television universe — The Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, DC Legends of Tomorrow — to what they were doing cinematically.

While plenty of stars have spoken about the issue including Gustin and Arrow‘s Stephen Amell, Snyder finally opened up about why he didn’t cast Gustin, saying:

“I just don’t think it was a good fit. I’m very strict with this universe, and I just don’t see a version where├óΓé¼┬ª that (tone is) not our world.”

This actually makes a lot of sense as The Flash‘s tone is quite often a bit more upbeat than the darker and grittier feel of Man of Steel or the trailers for BvS.

However, we do think they still could have blended the two worlds if they really wanted to which certainly would have been interesting to see.

Either way, we’re still hoping Arrow‘s sexy Manu Bennett might show up as Deathstroke…

Do you think Ezra will make a better version of The Flash than Gustin?!
