Girl power!

On Thursday, Ariel Winter defended Kim Kardashian West‘s controversial nude selfie while stopping by the Kyle and Jackie O Show. Fierce!

As you may remember, the Modern Family actress jumped to the KUWTK starlet’s defense when she saw that Kimmy Kakes was taking some heat for posting a seXXXy nude from back in the day.

The 18-year-old dished:

“I think she’s promoting body positivity. You know, young girls being able to express that they don’t have a stick-thin body ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ they’re curvy.”

Well said! Miz Winter went on to commend Kanye West‘s wife for being so comfortable in her own skin and for setting that precedent as an example for girls of ALL body types.

She continued:

“Stick-thin bodies are amazing, you know, those girls are amazing too but I think that everybody’s body would be celebrated no matter what it is and I think that it’s great that she’s so comfortable with herself and that she’s able to post out there what she wants to and post and if she wants to post a nude selfie, she can.”

That’s very fair. Although, we have a feeling Bette Midler, Pink, and Chlo├â┬½ Grace Moretz will probably disagree with Ariel since they all voiced their disdain for the snap.

Nonetheless, the up-and-comer went on to call out the industry for their double standards as men are able to post half-naked pics online without being reprimanded. She concluded:

“We’re not able to do the exact same thing and I think it’s really upsetting to be in an industry where that’s happening, so I really decided to stand up for her because I thought it was so ridiculous. If somebody doesn’t like the post, they can unfollow them. There’s no reason to go on and publicly bash them and I think, you know, she’s promoting body positivity instead of being a bad role model.”

What do YOU think? Have you, like Ariel, sided with #TeamKim on this matter?
