Whole Foods Fights Back After Being Accused Of Homophobia — Watch The Security Footage They Say Proves Cake Slur Is A FAKE!

WOW!!! We can’t even say any more than that — Whole Foods is NOT messing around!!!

Earlier on Tuesday, we reported to you the curious case of Jordan Brown, an Austin, Texas man who sued the grocery chain, claiming one of their bakers wrote out a homophobic slur on his cake earlier this month.

At the time, Whole Foods immediately denied the allegations — but now, after having a few hours to craft their message, the company isn’t just denying the homophobia ever took place; they are going on the offensive!!!

In a press release (which included a picture, above, of employees very publicly supporting same-sex marriage and LGBT rights), the company dropped a bomb on Brown’s allegations, first writing:

“Our bakery team member wrote ‘Love Wins’ at the top of the cake, which was visible to Mr. Brown through the clear portion of the packaging. That’s exactly how the cake was packaged and sold at the store. Whole Foods Market has a strict policy that prohibits team members from accepting or designing bakery orders that include language or images that are offensive.”

That’s all well and good, and pretty similar to what they released this morning, but it’s what FOLLOWED that paragraph where we find the juicy stuff — and Whole Foods ain’t playin’:

“Mr. Brown admits that he was in sole possession and control of the cake until he posted his video, which showed the UPC label on the bottom and side of the box. After reviewing our security footage of Mr. Brown, it’s clear that the UPC label was in fact on top of the cake box, not on the side of the package. And we appreciate the team members and shoppers who recognize that this claim is completely false and directly contradicts Whole Foods Market’s inclusive culture, which celebrates diversity.”

Translation: they’re straight-up calling Mr. Brown a LIAR!!!

The company now says THEY will be taking legal action against Brown for his malicious accusations! Wow — what a turnaround!!!

Oh, and if Whole Foods’ statement wasn’t enough, they dropped a video, too!!

Who do you believe now??
