Tamron Hall is experiencing a lot of pain right now.
Following Prince‘s death on Thursday, the Today Show coanchor gave intimate details regarding her last conversation with the legend. Hall and the singer had been close for many years, and she even appeared on the cover for his single If Eye Could Get Ur Attention.
Naturally, T.H. is absolutely devastated by the news — especially since she just talked to the 57-year-old this past Saturday by phone not too long after his scary emergency landing. The beauty also emailed back and forth with the creative on Monday.
To make matters even more hurtful, Prince had invited Tamron to visit the weekend prior to his death, an offer she now regrets declining. Due to the cohost’s busy work schedule and the artist’s claim that he was doing better, she decided to pass.
Expressing her remorse in a statement via Today, the 45-year-old revealed:
“We talked for hours Monday and I said he did not sound sick. He assured me he was okay. All Saturday he kept saying he was fine and asked me to come to Paisley to see his new piano and for a fan party. I was working and didn’t go. Monday, we exchanged emails after I sent him a video from a restaurant playing a song. I talked about how he was everywhere I go. It was a sweet moment and I had no idea it would be our last time talking. I never imagined it.”
What a terrible shock. We can’t imagine how Tam feels right now!
Take a look at the sweet yet heartbreaking message the investigative reporter shared following the news:
“Like a bird without a song”. I’ve lost one of my best friends today. I know he would have advice right now, Prince I’m listening as always.

While Tamron didn’t appear on the Today Show on Friday, cohost Al Roker revealed her regret over not paying that visit to her dear friend.
