On Monday, a federal appeals court, made up of a three-judge panel, officially ruled that the Pats player WILL have to serve the four-game suspension that was originally handed out by the league. This of course overturns a lower judge’s decision that originally sided with Brady.
In speaking about the ruling and the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, the appeals court said:
“We hold that the Commissioner properly exercised his broad discretion under the collective bargaining agreement and that his procedural rulings were properly grounded in that agreement and did not deprive Brady of fundamental fairness.”
We guess this means the seventh grader’s science project proving Tom’s innocence wasn’t admissible evidence? LOLz!
This is sure to make Goodell happy — throughout all the hearings, he insisted the suspension was deserved.
Last year, the star athlete avoided the punishment thanks to the court siding with him, but as of now, Brady will end up missing games against the Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans, and the Buffalo Bills. If nothing changes between now and the beginning of the football season, the QB will make his debut in the fifth week against the Cleveland Browns.
The 38-year-old football player is essentially being punished because of what is deemed to be “compelling, if not overwhelming” evidence that Brady knew about tamping of some kind and probably “consented to it, [and] encouraged it.”
Though this ruling could mean the end of the debate, there’s still a chance we’re in for more deflategate drama! That’s because Gisele Bundchen‘s main man could decide to appeal to the Supreme Court of the United States. The only problem with that is they don’t have to see the case if they don’t want to!
What are your thoughts on Brady being suspended?!
