Leah Remini Says She Encouraged David Miscavige’s Father To Write A Tell-All Scientology Memoir

Leah Remini

We just knew Leah Remini had to jump in this conversation!

Remember when we told you that Scientology leader David Miscavige‘s father Ron Miscavige is set to release an explosive tell-all book about his 40-plus years of experience with the controversial church?

Well, now the 45-year-old actress is saying she encouraged him to do so!

Miz Remini — who has her own bestselling book Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology out there — says she reached out to poppa Miscavige after he left the church back in 2012.

She tells ABC News in a new sit-down interview:

“I tracked him down. I called him and I offered my support, because I know he must’ve felt alone. I just wanted him to know that we were willing to take them in. Because there is no place for them to go unless they have family, which is very rare, outside of the church.”

Upon meeting, The King Of Queens star says she “immediately” encouraged Ron to put his experience to paper:

“Because his story is important. We’re all gonna speak up. You’re not gonna just bully people telling their stories.”

Not only did he take her advice with the memoir Ruthless: Scientology, My Son David Miscavige and Me — but Ron is also scheduling for a revealing interview with 20/20 airing Friday, April 29th.

As expected, the church isn’t too thrilled about all of this as they called Ron’s upcoming book “literary forgery.” Scientology attorney Monique Yingling says:

“There seems to be no explanation except that his father is trying to make a buck off his name. So I think there’s that level of sadness and I’m sure a sense of betrayal.”

Additionally, the books U.K. and U.S. publishers have received threats to sue if the book is published.

Will U be buying it when it comes out??
