This breaks our hearts.

13-year-old Deadpool superfan Connor McGrath — the cancer patient who got to meet Ryan Reynolds and see the raunchy superhero film before anyone else — died at his home in Canada on Tuesday.

On Thursday, Reynolds paid tribute to his late friend — whom he endearingly called “Bubba” — in a touching Facebook post.

He wrote:

“He went way too early and it’s impossible to reconcile. Connor was a great friend, a great son, and a light to the people lucky enough to know him. While repeatedly punching cancer in the balls, he made everyone laugh. Including the entire staff who cared for him at Edmonton’s Stollery Children’s Hospital.”

The actor brought attention to Connor’s battle with lymphoblastic leukemia in February. Though an online fundraiser was setup to help raise money for a specialized cancer treatment, it was cut short when his health began to decline.

But the young teen made a lasting impact on the movie star — as the 39-year-old became such good friends with Connor, they texted almost every day. Reynolds continued:

“I’m grateful I got to orbit Connor’s world for a brief time. Grateful for the pages and pages of hilarious texts between us. Grateful to his parents for allowing Connor to spend time with a foul-mouthed child in the body of a 39 year old.”

At the end of his post, Ryan offered his “deepest condolences” to Connor’s parents — and encouraged followers to donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, who was responsible for arranging the meet up.
