This story is absolutely vile.

A former professional football player was charged with raping a developmentally disabled woman in 2015 on Monday, and now he’s denying any involvement.

According to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, retired San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Dana Stubblefield allegedly assaulted a mentally challenged girl who was applying for a babysitting job at his home in Morgan Hill, Cali. last year.

Morgan Hill Police say the woman immediately reported the crime after it happened, but now Dana and his attorney are saying not only is she not developmentally delayed, the sex was actually consensual!

Following his $250,000 bail, the former NFLer addressed reporters regarding the allegations, saying:

“I am here to state without any reservation that I am completely innocent of all these allegations. This is an issue that is very close to me. One of my primary charities is Special Olympics, something that is true and dear to my heart.”

Dana’s attorney Ken Rosenfeld echoed his claims in the same press conference, saying:

“This is nothing but a money grab, and an attempt to get money and take advantage of his celebrity status.”

Regardless of who is telling the truth, we hope justice is served.

Dana is expected to be arraigned on June 3, and we will continue to update you as the case develops.
