With Star Wars: The Force Awakens MASSIVE success, it’s no surprise that we’ve got a slew of SW flicks on the way — including a Han Solo spinoff movie!

After months of speculation on who might replace Harrison Ford as a younger version of Solo, we can finally say Chewbacca has a new partner.

Deadline reports Alden Ehrenreich has landed the role of Han as sources say the 26-year-old star is currently negotiating to seal the deal.

Though there are no details yet on what the movie will be about, other than telling a story about a much younger Han Solo, we do know the script is being written by Lawrence Kasdan — who wrote Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and The Force Awakens.

The spinoff has also locked in directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller who most famously directed The Lego Movie!

Though Alden wasn’t specifically mentioned, Miller did take to Twitter on Wednesday to tweet out his excitement for starting the film with the FIRST official image from production saying:

It’s pretty likely that Chris’ tweet was connected to Ehrenreich’s casting, but he just couldn’t make an official announcement until the ink was dry.

There isn’t a set title for the film yet, though some fans have speculated that it might be Han Solo: A Star Wars Story in keeping with the the titling of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story which lands in theaters later this year.

What we DO know is that Han Solo’s flick has a release date set for May 25, 2018! So they better get to work!
