This breaks our hearts.
A Massachusetts man suffered repeated tragedies after losing three family members in a span of two weeks.
Domingos Fraga‘s nightmare began when his wife of five months Liz, who had a healthy pregnancy with no complications, had to undergo an emergency C-section and subsequently died of blood loss.
The widower spent the following days holding and reading to his newborn daughter Juliet, but she died only five days later due to taking in too much blood at birth.
This is too much tragedy for anyone to bear. But it wasn’t over…
At his wife and daughter’s wake, Fraga was informed his sister died of cervical cancer, leaving two children behind — and just a few days later, his grandmother suffered a stroke.
A greiving Fraga said he is “numb” from the repeated tragedies, telling local reporters:
“It goes from being mad, to being numb, to just bawling every night knowing she’s not there.”
Though devastated, the widower is trying to hold onto something positive, adding:
“I got to hold [my daughter] and read to her every night. They were meant to be together. Liz wanted to hold her.”
Fraga’s longtime friend Tiago Pereira set up a GoFundMe page for the widower, noting that he’s the last person who would ask for money, writing:
“But he’s not asking, we are. He’s already emotionally drowning with all this bad news and the last thing we would want for him is to drown in debt.”
As of Thursday, over 1,000 donated more than $50,000 of the requested $10,000.
We can’t even begin to imagine how unbearable Fraga’s situation is. Our hearts go out to him and his loved ones at this time.
