We’re almost at the Dancing With The Stars finale and we couldn’t be more excited to see who takes home the coveted Mirror Ball trophy this week!
Sadly, it sounds like we might not get to see Ginger Zee and her dancing partner Val Chmerkovskiy perform in the finals after the Good Morning America meteorologist injured her pelvis and is dealing with back spasms!
A source close to the situation revealed:
“Right now she can’t dance at 100 percent and [troupe member] Jenna Johnson is standing in for her during camera blocking today.”
The insider went on to say:
“She won’t know until tomorrow if she can do the dances. Ginger is seeing the show’s physical therapist and is resting so that hopefully she will be able to dance tomorrow night.”
If Ginger is able to go on with the show, she revealed to People in an interview over the weekend that she’s planning on paying homage to the legendary cinematic dance duo Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire! The 35-year-old dished:
“I mean, how could a Ginger go on DWTS without channeling Ginger Rodgers. But I will say that Ginger and Fred’s routines are deceptively complicated. They have ballroom elements but also jazz, Broadway and tap. Val has never done tap before so we’ve both been learning something new.”
Zee even opened up about what DWTS has taught her:
“I’ve really learned how much I can accomplish in life from competing on this show. I’ve pushed myself to my limits and beyond and I feel so much stronger because of it.”
Well regardless, we hope to see Ginger and Val show up for the finales!
Make sure you catch the Dancing With The Stars two-part finale that starts Monday night at 8p.m. EST on ABC!
