Calvin Harris Reportedly ‘Intimidated’ By Taylor Swift’s Success!

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris

Calvin Harris couldn’t take the heat… so he got the hell out of the kitchen!

According to a friend of Taylor Swift, the Scottish DJ was “intimidated” by the Sparks Fly singer’s immense success. What a shame!

As you know, it was revealed on Wednesday the couple broke things off after 15 months together. Reports say it was the 32-year-old who called it quits.

The insider tells People:

“[Harris] said on multiple occasions that he was intimidated by Taylor, which is why he would not attend any events where she was being honored, or any award shows unless he was nominated.”

You may recall Calvin, er, Adam Wiles was noticeably missing from T. Swift’s big night at the Met Gala — and the two have never done a red carpet together, much to our dismay. Sigh.

The pal continues by saying Tay is a strong independent woman, so she’s gonna be just fine:

“Taylor is an independent young woman, and she realizes it will take a very secure man to handle her success.”

On the other side, a source close to the record producer says the split “wasn’t a shock” for the 26-year-old beauty:

“They come from very different worlds. Taylor is used to being treated a certain way.”

Apparently, C.H. didn’t feel like the relationship was “leading anywhere:”

“It wasn’t an equal relationship. Their age difference might not be significant for many couples, but for them it was part of the problem too. Taylor somewhat lacks real-life experience. They will not be getting back together.”

Like, ever! *T. Swift voice*

Although things didn’t work out, Calvin still “very much admires her as a person and what she has been able to do with her career. This is what drew him to her in the first place.”

“She works incredibly hard for things that she believes in. He always saw that as an amazing quality. They are still friendly.”

Well, we guess it just wasn’t meant to be!
