Geesh! There was more drama than we thought!
As we reported, on Friday, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp‘s legal teams met in court to determine whether a permanent restraining order should be placed on the actor. In addition, the actress’ lawyer tried to push their June 17 court hearing back even further, which Depp’s lawyer — Laura Wasser — argued would further damage her client’s career.
Apparently, Wasser was so impatient she asked the court to depose The Danish Girl star and neighbor Raquel Pennington THAT SAME DAY!
However, the judge denied the motion, claiming the blonde beauty wasn’t given a required ten day notice.
According to the court :
“Respondent’s request to take deposition of [Heard] is denied, as the request was untimely noticed.”
The 53-year-old’s counsel also wanted Amber to hand over any communications (texts, emails, etc) from December 15 to now. The 30-year-old’s lawyer — Samantha Spector — said:
“Amber has not been given sufficient time to locate the requested documents… The request requires Amber to review over six months of personal communications with potentially every person she has spoken with, to search for any passing reference to the incidents in question. This is unduly burdensome.”
Heard was not in court as she is currently on her way to Pennington’s engagement party in New Jersey. However, according to court documents, she said:
“I remain willing to attend my deposition on a mutually convenient date in the future and cooperate with any required requests in that regard.”
The judge also denied Wasser’s petition to have Pennington’s testimony excluded from the June 17 hearing. Instead, both camps agreed Raquel will be deposed June 16 at 1:30 pm PT, one day before Johnny and Amber’s trial.
We just hope everyone can work it out!
