Country music may not be at the forefront of embracing equality in the industry, but one of the genre’s hottest stars has been pretty vocal about her support of the LGBT community.

That’s why we were extra shocked to see Kacey Musgraves make an insensitive tweet about the Orlando nightclub shooting on Sunday!

Kacey was just one of many celebs who voiced their pain for the 49 victims at Pulse Nightclub in a series of Twitter messages after the news broke, saying:

Perfectly nice, right?

Well, it was actually a now-deleted NSFW follow-up tweet that sparked outrage as the 27-year-old leaned a little too pro-gun for some fans’ tastes, saying:

We get that she was trying to help, but not everyone is comfortable with the idea of having even more guns out in the world, especially after the deadliest mass shooting in American history.

At least she knew she was wrong!

With that said, Kacey features the lyrics “Make lots of noise / Kiss lots of boys / Or kiss lots of girls / If that’s something you’re into,” so we know she’s not homophobic… it’s just a sensitive time for everyone connected to the gay community right now.
