Zayn Malik may be reclusive, but at least he’s honest about it.
For a recent interview with Dazed magazine, the former One Direction member hinted at his struggles with an anxiety and revealed he turned to Taylor Swift for feedback on his debut solo album, Mind Of Mine. Color us intrigued!
On becoming a recluse, the British hottie dished:
“I don’t tend to go out much. I stick to my own bubble, as it is. Creatively and socially, I think, as I’m getting older, that’s just the way I am.”
Can you really blame? As you surely recall, the 23-year-old shocked fans when he chose to leave 1D in the hopes of achieving more “private time”.
Unfortunately, Malik was unable to squash his passion for music and decided to launch his solo career. On life after being in a boy band, Zayn noted:
“I’m just staying the way that I am. I think that’s the best way to keep your sanity. You’ve got to hold on to what you are and not let things get to your head, because if you do, that’s when everything comes crashing down terribly.”
Still, the A-lister has struggled quite a bit with the pressures of fame as he was recently forced to cancel an appearance at Saturday’s Capital FM Summertime Ball due to his anxiety. While the Pillowtalk singer may not have his 1D bandmates to lean on anymore, he has found support in his girlfriend Gigi Hadid and her close pal Taylor.
Zayn even revealed the Blank Space singer was one of a few people he turned to for commentary on his latest album. He added:
“I spoke a bit to Taylor. At Gigi’s house we briefly spoke and she told me she really enjoyed the album. It was nice to get some feedback. She said she thought I was cool and I kind of blushed a bit and didn’t know how to take it.”
Awww. Still, despite Zayn’s recent struggles, he has definitely been killing the game lately.
We’re wishing ZM only the best during this trying time. Feel better, bud!
