Disney Pulls Crocodile Joke From Jungle Cruise Ride After Toddler’s Death — As The Victim’s Family Issues A Statement

Disney is making changes as the toddler's family opens up.

It’s been a really rough week.

On Wednesday, two-year-old Lane Graves was found dead after being attacked and grabbed by an alligator along the lagoon at Disney World‘s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

The child was snatched by the animal on Tuesday, while walking with his family at the water’s edge.

In light of the terrible tragedy, the resort is under fire about its safety measures, but for now the company making a very specific change to one of its most popular attractions.

Disney Parks is requiring the cast members working the Jungle Cruise ride to omit a joke about children getting eaten by crocodiles.

The Cruise is known for being emceed by its skippers, who navigate the waters with an approved script full of cheeky puns and one-liners.

The joke Disney is axing has the skippers tell parents to “watch your children, or the crocodiles will.”

In the wake of the toddler’s horrific death, we aren’t surprised that the corporation is pulling the plug on that dark quip, since we’re sure no one will find that very funny right now.

Plus, the CEO and other Disney execs are expressing their condolences to Lane’s grieving family, as the tot’s loved ones are speaking out about the heartbreaking incident.

Matt and Melissa Graves issued this statement about losing their son (below):

“Words cannot describe the shock and grief our family is experiencing over the loss of our son. We are devastated and ask for privacy during this extremely difficult time. To all of the local authorities and staff who worked tirelessly these past 24 hours, we express our deepest gratitude.”

We can’t even imagine what these poor parents — who were on vacation from Nebraska — must be going through.

Our hearts go out to everyone affected during this tough time.
