Were there any apps he wasn’t abusing?

Omar Mateen became America’s worst mass shooter in modern history early Sunday morning when he slaughtered 49 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, with semi-automatic weapons he purchased legally.

We’ve heard many stories about the 29-year-old killer in the five days since the Pulse Nightclub attack, and now even more terrifying details are coming to light.

As we reported on Wednesday, Omar was an active user on gay dating apps like Grindr, Adam4Adam, and Plenty of Fish, but it turns out he also used Facebook to plan his deadly attack.

Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin wrote an open letter to Mark Zuckerberg himself on Wednesday, alerting the social media giant to a post that Omar reportedly made during the hostage situation.

Apparently, the shooter wanted to give America a taste of “the filthy ways of the west,” saying:

“May Allah accept me. You kill innocent women and children by doing us airstrikes. Now taste the Islamic state vengeance. In the next few days you will see attacks from the Islamic state in the USA.”

Simply chilling.

Luckily for us, while authorities are still unclear on Omar’s exact motivations, they do not currently believe he was necessarily tied to ISIS, since he pledged allegiance to many opposing groups.

Stay safe out there, everyone!
