Cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria!
The new Ghostbusters flick starring Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones is still a month away from opening, but it’s already received quite a bit of backlash… and the women aren’t having it anymore!
The GB cast members already appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last week to SLAM misogynistic trolls, but they’re not stopping there as they recently did an interview with Entertainment Weekly where Wiig dished:
“You can’t get better than the original. But it’s a different movie, it’s a different cast, it’s many years later, and we’ve also done things that are different. It’s not just about it starring women.”
Jones then chimed in, saying:
“When people started asking me about the gender stuff, I would say, ‘It’s not a man thing, it’s not a woman thing. It’s a Ghostbuster thing.”
The ladies’ costar, Melissa, was also extremely shocked regarding the reaction, saying:
“I just thought, ‘Really? Are we still there?’ It’s a movie. I never gave it another thought. You just have to go, ‘Well, I hope you get out a little more. The world is fun.’ I really think it’s the minority.”
Though we definitely have our reservations about the movie, it DID get Bill Murray‘s stamp of approval! And honestly, what else do you really need?!
