The devastating story of Lane Graves, the 2-year-old attacked by an alligator at Walt Disney World, ended on Thursday when the boy was found dead.

Lane’s family is heading back home to their Nebraska town as they expect a huge settlement from Disney to avoid a messy legal battle.

As the family continues to grieve over this tragedy, the community in Elkhorn, Nebraska is coming together to show their love and support.

According to reports, members of the Ranch View Estates community put up hundreds of ribbons throughout the neighborhood to show support for the family.

Volunteers are also putting together a “meal train” and making plans to babysit Lane’s 4-year-old sister Ella.

Neighbor Tom Stokes told local news outlets:

“The people here are very warm and there’s definitely been a lot of outpour for the family. And I think everyone can relate to the time they’ve been to Disney World, taken their family there.”

So sweet!

On Friday, locals will be holding a “Lemonade for Lane” fundraiser at Elkhorn Valley View Middle School to raise funds for a memorial for the toddler.

As our hearts continue to break over this tragic loss of a child, we hope the community’s support helps the family get through this unbearable loss.
