On Friday, former NASCAR driver Mike Wallace and his daughter Lindsey Van Wingerden were attacked outside a Rascal Flatts concert in North Carolina.
According to reports, three men repeatedly kicked the 57-year-old, leaving him with a bruised eye and knocked out front teeth. His 34-year-old daughter attempted to protect him, but was assaulted as well.
According to an interview with WBTV, the racer said :
“We’ve never been through anything like this. They just knocked me out. When I come to, my daughter is laying on the ground, my son-in-law were on top of me trying to protect me. They were kicking me, beating on me.”
More than anything, he is upset with how they treated Lindsey.
“That hurts me worse than I got myself hurt, realizing [Lindsey] was trying to help me, and a group of people attacked her.”
Younger brother and fellow driver Kenny Wallace vented his frustration on Facebook:
“I am ├óΓé¼╦£tore up’ and ├óΓé¼╦£sick to my stomach’ about my brother ├óΓé¼╦£Mike’ and his daughter Lindsey Wallace Van Wingerden and everyone involved in this senseless ass beating after a concert in Charlotte NC on Friday night .. My brother Mike laid on the ground ├óΓé¼╦£knocked out’ and it was NOT even a fight and 3 men kept kicking my ├óΓé¼╦£knocked out’ brother in the face.. Think about it? .. My brother was knocked out and they were kicking him in the face… I AM SO FUCKING MAD!!”
The three men involved were arrested at the scene. According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Nathan Lucas and Randolph Mangum were charged with assault, and Paul Lucas was charged with assault on a female.
We just hope these scumbags get what they deserve!
