On Sunday, Johnny Depp stopped by the Jonesy’s Jukebox radio talk show for his first interview since his divorce drama with Amber Heard made headlines. However, the actor turned rocker only spoke about the music industry as he was interviewed alongside his Hollywood Vampires bandmates Matt Sorum, Robert DeLeo, and Bruce Witkin.
During his sit down, Depp elaborated on how he started acting after first trying his hand at music. He explained:
“I’ve [been a musician] since I was little ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ since I was 12 I’ve played. I started playing clubs when I was like 13 in Miami.”
Huh, the more you know. On his “accidental” acting career, Johnny added:
“I needed to pay rent. Somebody said, ‘Why don’t you go meet an agent. My agent is with Nick Cage,’ so she sent me on an audition for something and I got it.”
Talk about a lucky break. In fact, the Pirates of the Caribbean star didn’t pursue acting full time until his band broke up. Depp noted:
“It seemed like a good way to pay the rent for a minute.”
Looks like Johnny’s had a pretty good minute. LOLz!
Nonetheless, while his career has certainly skyrocketed, Johnny’s romantic life is currently on the rocks as he’s been accused of assault from his estranged wife. Still, the show must go on for the Hollywood Vampires as the group plans to kick off the US leg of their tour on July 1 in Pennsylvania.
Thankfully, Depp has August 15 and 16 cleared for his court hearings about the restraining order Miz Heard has against him. Awkward.
