This is bound to ruffle a few feathers.
This week, the world was outraged when Alton Sterling and Philando Castile were shot by police for — what many are calling — unjust reasons.
On Friday, Zayn Malik joined the long list of celebs who have commented on the controversy.
It all started when a Twitter user accused the former One Direction band member — along with Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, and Kim Kardashian — of appropriating Black culture while refusing to denounce police brutality. (On Friday, Kim wrote on her website that she supports #BlackLivesMatter.)
Gigi Hadid‘s boyfriend responded by saying police brutality has nothing to do with the recent shootings; it all has to do with racism.
He posted and deleted:
Hmmm. We don’t really understand Malik’s argument. Let’s say the cops were in fact racist. By killing these two men solely based on the color of their skin, isn’t that an example of using excessive force?
