As you probably know, Gretchen Carlson filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes last week.
The former host claimed she was fired after shutting down the businessman’s sexual advances.
She told The New York Times she “finally felt it was time” to say something, before elaborating on how uncomfortable she was while working on Fox & Friends:
“Everyone knew how powerful Roger Ailes was. I certainly felt intimidated by that. The culture of Fox & Friends was intimidating to me.”
Carlson even dished on why she continued to work at the network despite the abuse:
“I think it’s hard when you’ve been a victim ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ you keep thinking things are going to get better.”
As for why the 50-year-old decided to file the lawsuit, she said:
“I just wanted to stand up for myself, first and foremost. And I wanted to stand up for other women who maybe faced similar circumstances.”
Of course Roger has denied any claims of harassment, but we’re not buying it… remember, it’s now “he said, THEY said.”
Parent company 21st Century Fox has hired a law firm to look into the case, so hopefully we’ll know sooner rather than later!
What do YOU think of Gretchen’s claims of mistreatment?!
