Talk about dangerous!

As you probably know, Pok├â┬⌐mon Go is the new craze that’s got celebrities and politicians buzzing — but it’s also EXTREMELY dangerous!

While you may know about some of the crazy stories about accidents or dead bodies found thanks to the new mobile game, Steven Cary‘s story of may be the most careless.

Cary, a former Marine, was attempting to catch some Pok├â┬⌐mon around 10:44 pm EST in Auburn, New York — WHILE DRIVING his brother’s car — when he went off the roadway and crashed into a tree.

Thankfully, the 28-year-old was not seriously injured as he only had to have a cast put on his leg and few stitches in his left elbow. However, the front end of his bro’s car was smashed up pretty bad.

The former military man already knows what he did was stupid, chalking it up to a “momentary lapse of reason” when he saw a Lapras — a Pok├â┬⌐mon he’s really wanted — appeared on his phone. During an interview with Syracuse.com on Thursday, he even admitted:

“I can’t blame the game for my own stupid move.”

The gamer is lucky to be alive as the car was completely wrapped around the tree and the engine ended up in the passenger’s seat!

Tricia Cary, Steven’s mother, was very concerned and is now trying to help spread the message of the dangers of distracted driving as she said:

“It’s a message that needs to be seen right now. People are texting, checking their makeup, eating their lunch. All these things that people do while driving give you a similar level of distraction.”

We just hope that stories like this will help spread awareness about being alert and aware of your surrounds while playing Pok├â┬⌐mon Go — and don’t ever text or play and drive!

Stay safe out there!
