Wow, what a sweet gesture!
On Wednesday night, Nick Jonas treated a group of diabetic fans from the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston to an incredible evening of entertainment and good times.
Nick, who is diabetic himself and even received treatment at the center when he was a teenager, gave each of the kids (who ranged in age from 9 to 17) a FREE SUITE from which they could watch his July 20 concert. Jonas also took time out of his busy schedule to talk to the group about their diagnoses and his own experiences with the disease.
An observer at the event noted that the 23-year-old couldn’t have been more humble and gracious with his guests, revealing:
“He was super sweet ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ he was super focused on them. He shook all their hands when he walked in and asked them when they were diagnosed.”
How kind. We imagine this was an especially tender event for the performer considering he knows EXACTLY what the patients are going through.
A doctor from the renowned center went on to add:
“It is so empowering for our young patients to see a superstar like Nick Jonas who has shared experiences with them as someone with type 1 diabetes. I am confident that Nick has inspired many of our pediatric patients to pursue their dreams, and for him to go out of his way like this means so much.”
Woot! We needed this feel good story in the midst of all the bad news as of late!
Following the visit, the center tweeted this grateful message:
Thanks to @nickjonas for taking time to speak w/ & inspire Joslin patients about living w/ #T1D #JoslinPumped4Jonas pic.twitter.com/iNplahCPcX
