Don’t mess with Australia!

On Monday, Margot Robbie addressed the controversial Vanity Fair interview fans labeled as “sexist” and “patronizing” to Australians. FINALLY!

During her sit down with The Project, the Wolf Of Wall Street star revealed she had found the interview with journalist Rich Cohen to be “really weird” and was happy to see her reputation defended by her fellow Australians. She shared:

“I remember thinking that was a really odd interview, I don’t know how that’s going to come out… And then when I read it I was like, ‘Yeah, the tone of this is really weird’. Like, I don’t really know what he’s trying to get at. But I didn’t expect there to be like an uproar about it at all.”

While most of Twitter was in a tizzy over the offensive piece, Margot has since relayed that this wasn’t even the worst thing she’s read about herself. Miz Robbie continued:

“But I’ve read like far more offensive, far more sexist, insulting, derogatory, disgusting things on a daily basis. I don’t know, maybe I’m like desensitized to it.”

Perhaps that is why the blonde beauty didn’t initially respond to the controversy? Nonetheless, the 26-year-old was certainly flattered when her countrymen rallied around her. The Legend Of Tarzan actress noted:

“I didn’t say anything and I had like bit of Aussie pride where I was like, ‘Don’t mess with the Aussies! Look what happens when you mess with Australia!'”

HIGHlarious! Here’s hoping journalists will take note of Mr. Cohen’s mistake and avoid it at all costs in the future.

Fingers crossed.
