Michael Phelps is back, folks!
On Sunday, the swimmer brought his A-game as he and his teammates Nathan Adrian, Ryan Held, and Caeleb Dressel took first place in the 4×100 meter freestyle relay. FIERCE!
While this may be Phelps’ first decoration at the Rio Olympics, this medal is the American athlete’s 19th gold of his career. Whoa.
However, we have a feeling this medal might mean the most to the 31-year-old as the Olympian slayed the relay in front of his infant son, Boomer. Aww!
As you may recall, Michael and his fiancée Nicole Johnson welcomed their little one into the world back in May 2016. During the relay, Nicole was seen holding little Boomer while he wore a giant pair of headphones. One fan captured on Twitter:
Sniff! Now Boomer may only be 3-months-old but that doesn’t mean he isn’t proud of his poppa. In fact, the tiny tot even took to “his” Instagram and posted:
Thanks for sharing your gold medal with me dad!!! I love you and can’t wait til I get to see you.A photo posted by boomer phelps (@boomerrphelps) on Aug 7, 2016 at 10:49pm PDT
We can only imagine how much it meant to Michael to have his family cheer him on. We mean, it’s no secret that Michael wants to dominate in Rio as these races may be the last of his career…
