We’re so happy to hear this news!
According to Lamar Odom‘s personal trainer Oneil Pryce, the athlete couldn’t be in a better place right now. The info comes as a relief in light of rumors suggesting a drug relapse — not to mention the reality star was recently spotted drunk on a New York bound flight.
In a conversation with Us Weekly, Mr. Pryce claims the father has given up drinking in an effort to stay healthy. The fitness guru also encouraged Lam to stay low-key for the time being, which might explain why we haven’t seen him out and about lately.
The Long Island based trainer went on to reveal:
“From what I know [he’s not drinking], because right now he is focused and that is the state I have him in right now. I have been letting him know that [this] is going to be a rough road, a hard road. And one thing he has to do is make sure that the partying, the drinking, all of that stuff, is going to be tough on his body. So right now, he has been drinking his water, staying low key and pretty much staying out of sight of everybody else, all of the negative stuff.”
Sounds super positive! Maybe all those reports regarding his poor health were over-exaggerated…
As for the day-to-day training, the Pryce admits he’s taking it easy on the New York native:
“I have to go really, really easy with him and build his strength back up. He might look physically fit on the outside, but on the inside, you have to understand, his liver has been through a lot, his kidney has been through a lot, and his heart has been through a lot.”
Phew! We’re glad L.O. is handling his recovery with care!
The fitness guru went on to add:
“I’m just trying to show him it is one day at a time ├óΓé¼┬ª Just two, three months ago, people were saying you weren’t going to walk again, you weren’t going to live. So, just to be where you are right now, you are doing good. And as far as workouts, he is actually making great strides. This is a gleam of hope, just a gleam [that] can get [him] through the darkest hours.”
Well, we hope this update is true. We really want Lamar to succeed!
